A little more than three years after the laying of the foundation stone, the Catullo company takes stock of the progress of the work on the new passenger terminal at the airport of the same name in Verona: 80% of the work on the new passenger terminal has been completed on schedule, with no interruption to airport operations.
The Romeo Project is the main intervention on the airport terminal envisaged in the Development Plan and concerns the redevelopment and expansion of the departures area, whose surface area will increase from the current 24,840 square metres to 36,370 square metres, to which will be added the renovation of more than 10,000 square metres of existing areas.
The occasion for a first stocktaking coincided with the inauguration of the new Security Area of the Romeo Project. "In its totality, the work constitutes a fundamental infrastructure for the further growth of Catullo airport, which is continuing to express its potential in terms of flight offer and services to the territory within the North-Eastern Airport Pole, managed by the Save Group," the company stated. In the background there is the appointment with the Milan - Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, and the objective is to be able to count on an airport up to the international event.
The Romeo Project
Designed for a flow of more than 5 million passengers, the entire Romeo Project is realised with a view to environmental sustainability, high maintainability and energy saving, to give back an overall renewed image of the terminal both for its architectural aspects and for those related to the commercial spaces that will renew and expand their offer.
