Six days and nineteen artists, an ambitious line-up with an international scope, Italian exclusives, and a unique stage a few steps from the sea to greet the arrival of the most popular season. The La Prima Estate festival returns to Lido di Camaiore, from 14 to 16 June and from 21 to 23 June, ready to heat up the Versilia sands once again. For two weekends, from Friday to Sunday, the appointment is renewed at the BussolaDomani Park, in the conviction of offering a high quality artistic experience selected for true music lovers, far from the charts and trends of the moment. Cast gold for the economy of the area, if we consider that the event sets in motion a economy of 6.4 million.
After hosting unforgettable concerts last year, such as that of Lana Del Rey, which was announced as a surprise and sold out in a week, the festival confirms itself as one of the most interesting events in this edition too. It starts on Friday 14 June with Jane's Addiction, led by the visionary Perry Farrel and in the running for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year; preceded by the US alternative rock standard bearers Dinosaur Jr; the Sleaford Mods with their latest work UK GRIM; and the distinctive voice of Motta. A tribute to Versilia's nocturnal history takes the stage at BussolaDomani on Saturday 15 June: Kama Kama History. Some of the DJs who made the history of Kama Kama - a pioneering reference point for house music and a true brand of entertainment - return to Lido di Camaiore to rekindle its spirit. Sunday 16 June will close the first weekend with the Phoenix; the eclectic and refined energy of Venerus; the Belgian duo 2manydjs, capable of redefining the modern conception of DJing.
The second weekend opens on Friday 21 June: starring Peggy Gou and an evening to dance to, alongside the Dutch duo ANOTR with its innovative approach to house music; and Todd Terje, the Norwegian DJ capable of bewitching dancefloors. On Saturday 22 June, space will be given to another big international name: Paolo Nutini, the Scottish singer-songwriter with an unmistakable pen and voice. Before him, Michael Kiwanuka, a multi-award-winning artist who has bewitched audiences and critics alike since his debut with his otherworldly soundscapes, a bewitching blend of soul and pop, afrobeat and rock. Also, the experimental rock tinged with post-punk and post-rock of the British Black Country, New Road in their only Italian date; and from Scotland, the Swim School, between 1990s grunge, modern indie and dream-pop. Grand finale overflowing with energy on Sunday 23 June. Co-headlining the evening will be two of the most interesting bands around: the Irish Fontaines D.C. and the pop rock of the British Kasabian, a group with over 5.5 million albums sold worldwide, a Brit Award, seven Nme Awards, and four Q Awards to its credit. With them, the live performance of London's Shame with their latest albumFood for Worms; and Wu-Lu, the British producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer full of depth.
"With this third edition we are continuing the growth path of a festival that was not there before, dedicated exclusively to music lovers who are moved by vibrations and not by rankings," says Mimmo D'Alessandro, ceo D'Alessandro e Galli. "And in a unique location, full of musical history and facing the sea. A festival that inaugurates the summer music season in Italy'. The formula is the same as the two previous editions: 'More than a festival, a holiday. And in addition to the music played, there will be Yoga and wellness mornings at Bagno Cavallone. Then La Prima Estate Talk returns, the series of meetings curated by Michele Boroni with the authors of the most interesting books dedicated to music that have come out in recent months
