There is no decline in the success of the Vespa (over 19 million units sold on all continents), which at every Eicma finds a key to continuing to revive its legend. This year the focus is on power, that of the new 310 cc Euro 5+ engine with which the new Gts is equipped: it is the evolution of the 278 cc liquid-cooled engine, compared to which it has over 70% new components. The stroke of the single-cylinder increases from 63 to just over 70 mm, increasing displacement and power, now by 25 hp. But the torque, delivered at low speeds and available from the first opening of the throttle, and the elasticity of travel also increase. The "Gran Turismo Sportivo" qualities of the Vespa flagship are thus enhanced by unprecedented performance. Mechanical and drive belt noise are also reduced. As always, on the Gts 310 the all-steel body also acts as a frame, supporting the engine unit (centrally mounted) and the mechanical components, a construction philosophy that ensures Vespa robustness and dynamism, to which the 12" wheels also contribute. The Vespa Gts also adopts advanced electronic traction control, a full LED headlight and the keyless start system. Vespa Gts 310 will also be available in Super and SuperSport versions, which push the accelerator on the sportiness of the vehicle.
