Praemia Reim Italy, Camplus and Cdp Real Asset announce the launch of a national real estate investment platform in the university residence sector. The operation consists in the simultaneous launch of two funds, "Camplus Sviluppo" and "Camplus Long Term", managed by Praemia Reim Italy Sgr: the former for the creation of new university residences and the latter aimed at attracting resources from the market in already operating residences, for a total investment of EUR 100 million and 900 beds. In both cases, the management of the student residences will be entrusted to Camplus. The Camplus Sviluppo fund will benefit from the participation of up to 50% of the National Fund for Social Housing, promoted and managed by Cdp Real Asset sgr.
The initial portfolio includes investments totalling approximately EUR 78 million in projects located in: Rome (Via Ostiense, 10 beds); Naples (Via Torino, 142); Pescara (Viale Marconi, 185) and Padua (Via Turazza, 230). The 'Camplus Long Term' fund, on the other hand, will initially invest in two residences already managed by Camplus and located in Milan (Via d'Ancona 27 ) and Bologna (Via del Carpentiere 52) for a total of 231 beds and an investment of approximately 20 million.
In parallel with this first closing of the collection, Praemia Reim Italy sgr continues the talks already underway with leading Italian and foreign institutional investors for the future growth of the investment platform, with the aim of pursuing new real estate initiatives in the student housing sector that have already been identified, to be implemented throughout Italy in areas with high potential and strong university value.
'Through these transactions,' said Luca Turco, CEO of Praemia Reim Italy sgr, 'we are reaching a further milestone in our growth strategy, enriching our investment offer with products dedicated to student housing, a fast-growing asset class in which real estate investments can also be seen as promoters of social aggregation, sustainability and reuse of the territory.
"We are very pleased to participate in this platform that involves institutional actors of the highest level," added Maurizio Carvelli, CEO of Camplus. "We are happy to support it with our experience, which guarantees current and future investors the seriousness in the management of the facilities and provides our consolidated knowledge in the management of university residences. We continue to have as the compass of our operations the student, his growth and above all the accessibility of quality and competitively priced university housing".
