Yet another transaction in the world of hotels on Lake Como, where the liveliness does not stop and concerns investors and managers alike.
The latest transaction in order of time is the purchase by the Villa d'Este group of two of its hotels in Como part of the Passera family's LarioHotels. These are the Hotel Terminus and the Vista Lago di Como.
The group headed by the Fontana family, after the acquisition in Cernobbio of Villa Belinzaghi, bordering a famous luxury hotel, and the Hotel Miralago, the Ambrosini family's four-star hotel on the lakeshore and in the centre of the resort and consisting of 40 rooms, restaurant and bar, continues its expansion in the well-known tourist resort. Along the shores of Lake Como, the liveliness of the market is non-stop, with big brands such as Edition, Six Senses, brought to Cadenabbia by Giuseppe Statuto, and Rosewood on the shore of Bellagio. Not only Belmond (of the Lvmh group) has reportedly purchased the Castello di Carate Urio to create a luxury structure.
"This transaction represents a significant step for both entities, allowing Villa d'Este on the one hand to further expand and enhance its collection of facilities on Lake Como and, on the other hand, LarioHotels to devote itself to the development of the Vista brand at a national level, continuing to have an important presence in the Lake Como destination with the Villa Flori and Posta Design Hotel facilities, which will remain owned and managed by LarioHotels," reads a statement.
The operation ensures business continuity and peace of mind for all workers involved.
"We are honoured to welcome two properties of great historical and symbolic value to the Villa d'Este Group, laying the foundations for a luxury hotel development also in Como and thus strengthening our commitment to the destination under the banner of excellence in luxury hôtellerie. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Passera family for the dedication and care with which they have managed the properties over the years. With this acquisition, we are committed to preserving their legacy, and at the same time enhancing their value, in line with our corporate vision and values," said Giuseppe Fontana, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Villa d'Este.
