The Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este returns

The flagship event of the BMW Group's Classic division takes place from 23 to 24 May in the luxurious location of Villa d'Este, a partnership that has now lasted for more than 20 years.

The Concorso d'Eleganza of Villa d'Este on Lake Como has been organised by the BMW group for 20 years now. An unmissable stop for the exhibition of exclusive cars, but also motorbikes will take place this year on the weekend of 23 to 25 May. On that occasion, the Munich-based brand will present a number of world premieres, including a sporty and elegant model designed to offer a two-passenger driving experience. The other is marked M, which is Bmw's high-performance model division. A two-wheeler concept from the Motorrad division is also planned.

All the events of the 2025 edition

On Saturday, the Amici & Automobili event will take place, reserved for automobile clubs and communities from all over the world who will be able to display their jewels, more than 150 in all, in the park of Villa d'Erba. On Sunday 25 May there will be a parade of the cars entered in the Concorso, including the Bmw i5 Flow Nostokana. These two days will also see the traditional auction organised by Broad Arrow Auctions of the Hagert Group, which will be auctioning off three truly unique BMWs: the 1958 507 Series II, the 1981 BMW M1 and the 2000 BMW Z8.

All categories of the Concours d'Elegance

Around fifty cars will take part in this year's Concours d'Elegance, divided into the different categories arranged by the organisers. They are, in order of importance, Class A - Glorious Excess (1920-1940), Class B - Sculpture in Motion (1928-1938), Class C - Renaissance: The Post-War European, Sports Car, Class D - Titans of the Track, Class E - Frozen in Time (1900-1973), Class F - Go Big or Go Home, from the 1980s to the present day and Class G - Vanishing act and Class H - Style matters. A truly high-level heritage.

The awards provided are for iconic models in the industry. The most prestigious is the Bmw Group Trophy, Best of Show, which is awarded by a jury of experts, as well as the Gold Cup, which is voted for by the public. Then there is the President's Trophy, presented by competition chairman Helmut Kas, and the Il Canto del Motore Trophy, which will be presented by tenor Jonas Kaufmann and given for the best engine sound. Finally, prizes will also be awarded to all the concept cars of the various car brands among those to be presented at the 2025 event.

Anniversaries celebrated at Villa d'Este

This year's edition includes several anniversaries that will be celebrated in the style that has always distinguished the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. It will be the first time that all surviving original body variants of the Bmw 328 that lined up for the 1940 Mille Miglia are on display. The cars also include the Bmw 328 Touring Coupé and Bmw 328 Mille Miglia Series 1 roadster nicknamed the Trouser Crease Roadster. Bmw, then, finished the race in 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th place winning both the regularity and team prizes in all classes.
