Villa d'Este goes shopping again and buys the Regina Olga

After the recent acquisitions of the two Passera family hotels and Miralago, the group expands again in Cernobbio

The Villa d'Este group's relentless shopping spree in Cernobbio continues. After the recent operation on the Terminus and Vista di Como hotels, the company led by Davide Bertilaccio has announced the acquisition of the Hotel Regina Olga, a 4-star structure that dates back to the end of the 19th century and overlooks the lakefront of the lakeside resort.
Located in the characteristic little square of Cernobbio, in fact, the Hotel Regina Olga stands out for its privileged position. A stone's throw from the Miralago hotel and Harry's Bar, which has already entered the orbit of Villa D'Este.

With this umpteenth move, the Villa d'Este group shows that it firmly believes in the potential of the area and its enhancement. "Today's acquisition represents a significant moment in the history of the structure," reads a communiqué. "The hotel, which has been out of business for several years now, will see the start of a major renovation plan to restore its value, also considering the privileged position it enjoys. The goal is to obtain a structure of about 60 rooms with dining areas also open to non-resident guests and an outdoor swimming pool'.

It was sold by the R Collection Hotels group, which is owned by the Rocchi family.

The group now includes five hotels in the Como area, as well as Villa La Massa on the banks of the Arno in Florence. The Harry's Bar in Cernobbio, the "Salesianum Don Bosco" property complex and the Golf Villa d'Este in Montorfano are also part of the group. The group is also entrusted with the management of the two four-star Palace Hotel and Barchetta Excelsior in Como and the Ceccato Garden Bar.
