Volkswagen Group, stable deliveries thanks to electrics
Deliveries at the end of 2025 amounted to just under nine million vehicles, which corresponds to a slight decrease compared to 2024 of 0.5 per cent, when they had exceeded the nine million mark.
The Volkswagen Group reported that the last quarter of 2025 showed a decline of 4.9% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the Wolfsburg brand confirmed its sales performance in Europe with deliveries up 3.8% in Western Europe and 9% in Central and Eastern Europe. The result in South America was also remarkable (+11%), while the well-known problems in North America (-10.4%) and China (-8%) remain,
Endothermic models give way to battery range
The final balance sheet for 2025 for the Vw Group confirms that the segment is settling down. With 8,983,900 vehicles delivered globally, the Wolfsburg giant held its ground compared to the previous year, registering a minimal decline of 0.5 per cent. Although the number of units is almost unchanged, the composition of sales reveals that the endothermic models are starting to give way to the battery range that is increasingly central to strategies.
The different classification of markets contained the losses
The diversification of the markets at least made it possible to close a complicated year with moderate losses. The VW Group also grew in the rest of Asia (+8.5%) and in the Middle East and Africa (+10.1%). According to Oliver Blume, who left the helm of Porsche to devote himself exclusively to the Volkswagen Group, he explained that the performance achieved so far shows a robust situation within the complicated market situations of 2025.
Almost one million Bevs delivered during 2025
The most striking figure at the end of the year concerns 100% electric vehicles. During 2025, the VW Group delivered 983,100 zero-emission units, marking a 32.0% increase over 2024. A leap that allowed the share of electric vehicles to rise to 10.9% of total global deliveries, surpassing the previous year's 8.2%. Proof that demand for electric mobility at Volkswagen is expanding in areas where the infrastructure is most mature.
Brands on the rise, those in slight decline and those on the decline
With more than 20 new models, the group will fully support the product offensive planned for 2026. These include more innovative vehicles from the many models destined for the Chinese market, as well as a family of urban electric cars. Among the growing brands are Skoda (+12.7%) and Seat (+5%), while models in the Vw family are down 1.4%. Also dropping just 10.1% were Audi (-2.9%) and Bentley (-4.8%). Then up slightly was Lamborghini (+0.6%).
