Volunteering, stocktaking and perspectives ten years after the reform of the Third Sector

Two days of debate on the world of volunteering, ten years after the reform of the Third Sector. On Friday 17 and Saturday 18 April, Pisa will host the conference "Il volontariato a dieci anni dalla riforma del Terzo settore" ("Volunteering ten years after the reform of the Third Sector"), an opportunity for critical reflection and discussion between the academic world, institutions and protagonists of the voluntary sector. The initiative is organised by the Dirpolis Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, in collaboration with MOVI (Movement of Italian Volunteers), the Coesione Sociale Foundation, the Maria Eletta Martini Centre, the Emanuela Zancan Foundation and the University of Roma Tre, with the support of the Gruppo Banca Etica.
The initiative aims to analyse the effects that the reform has had on volunteering, highlighting transformations, critical issues and prospects. In a context in which the Third Sector is taking on an increasingly relevant role in the social and economic fabric, the conference questions how organisational models, forms of participation and the relationship between volunteering, work and the dimension of gratuitousness are changing.

The conference starts on Friday 17 April at 9 a.m. at the Palazzo dei Dodici (Piazza dei Cavalieri 1, Pisa) with the first reports on the impact of the reform on volunteering. At 2.30 p.m. the conference moves to the Scuola Sant'Anna, in the Aula Magna (Piazza Martiri delle Libertà 33, Pisa) where Luca Antonini, judge of the Constitutional Court, is also scheduled to speak.
Saturday 18 April at 9.30 a.m. at the Scuola Sant'Anna the round table 'What proposals for a revision of the legislation on volunteering?' coordinated by Emanuele Rossi, professor at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, is scheduled to be held, during which institutional representatives and experts will discuss possible lines of revision and updating of the legislation on volunteering.
