Walking the Peace Trail

It is a fascinating 495-kilometre-long mountain itinerary, from the Tonale Pass to the Marmolada, along the front line and crossing the entire Trentino territory in latitude, linking the sites that were the theatre of the Great War. The one fought in the snow and ice and on the crests of the mountains of this territory by the soldiers of the Kingdom of Italy and those of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, during the First World War. This year this great route has been divided into four treks. The last two are scheduled for 26 to 28 September and 2 and 4 October. The first crosses the Ledro Alps, from Ledro (hamlet of Lenzumo) to Riva del Garda with a stop at the Nino Pernici Refuge. On Sunday 28 September, the excursion will touch the Tagliata del Ponale and then Forte Brione where at 3pm the (S)legati company's theatrical performance is scheduled, A (s)ragionar di guerra. On the other hand, from 2 to 4 October, the participants will set off from Canazei to reach the Conca di Fuciade above Passo San Pellegrino, with intermediate stops at the Passo San Nicolò refuge and the Passo delle Selle refuge. Two events are scheduled for this last trek: these are the final appointments of the Festival I Sounds of the Dolomites celebrating 30 years this year. These are the concert of the Thumòs Quartet at the Contrin Refuge, Thursday 2 October at 12 noon and the concert of the European Youth Orchestra EUYO conducted by Jean Christophe Spinosi at the Fuciade Refuge, Saturday 4 October at 12 noon.
