Wall Street: opens higher (S&P +0.36 per cent), tech stocks rebound after yesterday’s sell-off
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Wall Street opened higher, driven by the technology sector, following a negative trading session caused by a disappointing revenue report from OpenAI. SpaceX shares are up by around 3 per cent, after the space and satellite company led by Elon Musk announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide portfolio of low-band spectrum. Shares in AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, on the other hand, are falling sharply (between 6% and 9%) due to investor concerns over intensifying competition in the mobile telecoms sector. At the start of trading, the Dow Jones is up 81.41 points (+0.16 per cent), the S&P 500 is up 28.14 points (+0.36 per cent), whilst the Nasdaq is up 151.66 points (+0.56%). WTI crude oil on the NYMEX is down 0.70% at $90.85 per barrel.
