Six months' suspension for the men's national water polo team for violating Article 5 of the World Aquatics Integrity Code during the last Olympic Games in Paris after the political quarter-final match against Hungary on 7 August. The eliminated Azzurri had appealed (later rejected) against the refereeing direction and before the match against Spain, at the time of the anthems, the entire team had their backs to the referees. The six-month suspension also includes exclusion from the next World Cup as well as a $100,000 fine. The Water Polo Federation will not appeal.
