Gens Aurea: CEO Godano, 25% listed on the stock exchange – we want to create the European ‘FirstCash’

Based on the US model, there is considerable interest from Anglo-Saxon funds

“We want to list on the stock exchange with a limited stake, around 25 per cent; the shareholders intend to remain invested and we aim to continue growing with the objective of establishing a company in Europe similar to FirstCash in the US”. This was stated by Fabio Godano, CEO of Gens Aurea, in an interview with Radiocor. the company with a network of over 500 ‘gold-buying’ shops across five countries (operating under the OroCash brand in Italia), which has begun the process of listing on the Milan Stock Exchange “in the first half of July”.
FirstCash, listed on the Nasdaq with a market capitalisation of 10 billion, generated $3.6 billion in revenue in 2025 with approximately 700 million in EBITDA. Gens Aurea aims to close 2026 with 1.5 billion in revenue and over 200 million in EBITDA. “Unlike the American group, which is also active in pawnbroking and various other product lines, we are focused on gold as a raw material,” explains the manager. “We are growing rapidly, with very good results in terms of cash generation and our ability to generate EBITDA and profits. We have zero debt and are self-financing: therefore, we are not going to the market to seek funding but to raise the profile of what we are doing and to enter new markets, starting with the German market.” The listing on the main board of the Milan Stock Exchange will take place following the sale of shares by the DVC fund, which controls the group, and will be reserved for institutional investors: “The investors we are contacting are mainly from the US and the UK, though not exclusively, and they are very receptive; there is a strong appetite for this sector, which they have already had the opportunity to appreciate,” says Godano between meetings with potential investors.
