Wegreenit is undertaking two projects worth over €37 million in Milan and Alessandria

Wegreenit – a general contractor specialising in the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings – has been awarded two European tenders for energy efficiency works on public housing (ERP) in Milan and the province of Alessandria, with a total value of over €37 million.

The first project, worth around €22 million, involves the energy-efficiency refurbishment of a social housing complex in the Baggio district of Milan, comprising 13 buildings and 530 residential units, managed by Metropolitana Milanese.

The project, which forms part of the REPowerEU initiative under the PNRR, involves the installation of external wall cladding across a total area of 26,767 square metres, the insulation of roofs, the installation of new energy generation systems and the replacement of existing windows and doors, with the aim of reducing energy consumption by approximately 90% and bringing the buildings up to energy class A4, significantly improving performance and living comfort whilst reducing energy bills.

The second project, worth approximately €15.5 million, involves five buildings comprising a total of 350 residential units spread across Alessandria, Tortona, Casale Monferrato and Valenza, managed by the Southern Piedmont Regional Housing Agency. Here too, the works involve an integrated approach to energy efficiency, with significant expected benefits: thanks to external thermal insulation covering over 14,400 square metres and the modernisation of the systems, it will be possible to achieve a reduction in energy consumption of up to 96% and a cut in bills of up to 90%, as well as a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. For both projects, the works are expected to take approximately two years.

Both projects form part of public-private partnership schemes and are funded by the PNRR – REPowerEU and the Conto Termico 3.0, confirming the strategic role of these instruments in promoting the large-scale refurbishment of public buildings.
