On the 4th at La Scala "Thucydides. Athens versus Melo", adapted and directed by Alessandro Baricco, music by Giovanni Sollima; with Baricco, Stefania Rocca, Valeria Solarino and Giovanni Sollima, Enrico Melozzi and the 100 Cellos. Set to Sollima's music is the story of the clash, which took place in 416 B.C., between the Athenians and the inhabitants of the island of Melo. The refusal of the Melii to submit to the ultimatum of surrender and conquest sent by the Athenians resulted in one of the most tragic episodes of the war: the total destruction of the city. A poetic, cutting and highly topical reflection on what Justice and Law are in the face of the relationship between aggressor and aggressed, weak and strong, winner and vanquished.
