What is 24ORE NextMed: projection, diplomacy and strategies
A platform for the topics of training, security and economic power. Paper, TV, digital, podcasts, multimedia activities. And the novelty of a permanent observatory to make things happen
Key points
In a global context marked by the fragmentation of strategic balances, regional wars and growing technological and demographic competition, the Il Sole 24 Ore Next Med project represents not only an editorial innovation, but also a device for the projection of economic, communicative and 'diplomatic' influence in the enlarged quadrant of the Mediterranean.
24 Hours Next Med configures itself as an initiative capable of positioning information where the decision-making ganglia demand it. Through a multi-channel format, the project aims at Euro-Mediterranean dialogue by responding to the challenges of training and economic development. Education, culture, security and economic power are, in fact, the fundamental assets for the future of Italia, the European Union and all the nations that face or have influence on the mare Nostrum.
Contents
Training is one of the main pivots for the development of relations between the Mediterranean countries. It needs a flow of information capable of creating an economy of scale around the issue. And above all, it deserves the creation of an overall framework that supports a strategic vision. To involve many more companies, unite efforts and investments, projecting a hope of light in Europe's demographic winter. Geopolitical blocs are in constant motion. The opportunities for development, industrial and social interaction around the Mediterranean deserve constant attention and targeted solicitation. Building supply chains means revitalising an area stretching from continental Europe to the Sahel and the Middle East. Assets need security. And the security of networks, of data, of port basins, of the seabed, and food security unravel with the complex skein of new technologies. We will cover the geographical area that touches the Mediterranean, but also its extensions: the Balkans, Turkey, the Gulf countries, up to monitoring the progression of the Imec corridor that takes the waters of the Mare Nostrum to India.
The schedule
On these premises, the project unfolds across all the group's platforms: TV, print, digital, infographics, radio and finally a vertical on the Radiocor press agency. A periodic overlook on the daily newspaper dialogues with a section on the website that daily allows, in addition to Italian and English, publications in Arabic.
A TV format is born (on a weekly basis) designed for the 246 digital terrestrial channel, but with content also accessible in a digital version. Borders, where the world changes, narrates through 24-minute episodes the places where different systems meet and generate geopolitical, economic and social tensions. From Mediterranean migrations to strategic routes, the series explores the dynamics by which infrastructure, demography and security redefine global power. Food crises and new energy competitions show how resources influence political stability and prices for citizens and businesses. At the same time, technological and biomedical innovations redefine the relationship between freedom, health and power. Sahel, the Mediterranean, new global rivalries: borders become the point where the future of societies is decided.
