Villa Sandi announces its adhesion to the Guggenheim Intrapresæ project, "thus reinforcing its commitment to culture and its bond with Venice". Significantly, it does so on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the opening to the public of Villa Sandi, the historic building of the Palladian school located in the hills of the Marca Trevigiana that gives its name to the company.
The labels of the Moretti Polegato family, leader in the production of Prosecco Docg and Doc wines in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia with a turnover of over 131 million in 2023, thus becomes part of a group of internationally renowned companies supporting programming and initiatives of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Villa Sandi, say the company, "after a careful restoration that lasted several years, was among the first Italian wineries to welcome external visitors, thus promoting art and beauty as part of its identity. And with 2024, the winery is preparing to cross the historic milestone of 500 thousand visits, confirming its role as an ambassador of culture, art and flavours".
Today the annual visitors, 40% from abroad, exceed 20,000. "Ninety per cent of the tourists who come to Villa Sandi know us as producers in their country and decide to take the opportunity to buy our wines directly in our two shops (Crocetta del Montello and Valdobbiadene). They then take the opportunity to take a guided tour of our cellars, to get to know the estates and discover the territory that surrounds us,' they say from the company
"Wine, like art, is a vehicle of excellence capable of sharing a wealth of emotions. Therefore, embracing such a prestigious project as Guggenheim Intrapresæ not only fills us with pride, but also confirms our deep connection with Venice and its rich cultural heritage. Through this collaboration, we are committed to enhancing and preserving artistic treasures, becoming the custodians of a legacy that goes beyond our time," says Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, resident of Villa Sandi. "We are linked to the history of our lands and were among the first wineries to open their doors to visitors, accompanying them to discover and learn about the world of wine and more. That is why today we look with even greater enthusiasm to new horizons to continue to allow culture and its wonders to inspire and enrich the world'.
