Work: Safety culture takes centre stage in the 24ore Podcast

To mark European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which runs from 19 to 23 October, the podcast “Missione Sicurezza – Stories for an Achievable Goal”, produced for TELT – the binational public promoter of the cross-border section of the Turin–Lyon rail link for freight and passengers – by 24Ore Podcast, the hub that brings together all the productions of Radio 24, Il Sole 24 Ore and all divisions of the Il Sole 24 ORE Group.

This five-part series takes listeners inside complex companies and organisations committed to developing projects to improve health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace: managers, technicians and workers discuss the projects, challenges and results that underpin the culture of prevention at TELT, Bvlgari, Trenord, IREN and the Bruno Kessler Foundation.

Alongside the two presenters, listeners will walk alongside those working deep within the mountains on the TELT Turin–Lyon railway tunnel construction sites; they will join the artisans at Bvlgari’s fine jewellery workshop, discover the initiatives for Trenord staff as they manage regional transport in Lombardy and for IREN staff in urban environments, right through to the applied research and new technologies that the Bruno Kessler Foundation has developed to help make workplace safety accessible to everyone.

Each episode will show, through first-hand accounts from managers, technicians and workers, how a culture of safety takes shape in everyday life, manifesting itself in behaviour, innovation, training and mutual care. The series has been conceived and produced so that even those who are not ‘insiders’ can engage with the topic of safety, understood as a shared and widespread cultural heritage.
