Drone raid on a logistics centre in Russia. Black Sea: Moscow attacks three Ukrainian ships

A drone attack has caused a fire at a Wildberries logistics centre in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, in the Ural Mountains, more than 1,600 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. This has been reported by the Russian media, which noted that since mid-July the Ukrainian army has attacked around 20 Wildberries logistics centres in various regions of Russia. The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, stated that three drones struck the roof of the logistics centre, without causing any casualties.
Moscow attacks three Ukrainian ships in the Black Sea
The Russian armed forces, meanwhile, attacked three merchant ships carrying military equipment for Ukraine in the Black Sea overnight, the Moscow-based Ministry of Defence announced this morning. “Drone strikes hit three cargo ships carrying military equipment in the Black Sea,” the ministry said, as quoted by Russian news agencies.
Kiev: 9 dead and 89 injured in Russian attacks over the past few hours
Across Ukraine, Russian attacks have left at least nine people dead and 89 injured over the past 24 hours, according to the country’s regional authorities. Moscow’s forces have struck the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 80 times, killing five people and injuring a further sixteen. Governor Oleksandr Hanzha added that Russia had used drones, artillery, guided aerial bombs and missiles in its attacks. In total, Russia launched 147 Shahed-type drones against Ukraine overnight, and air defences shot down 114 of them, according to the air force. The remaining 29 drones struck 15 locations, whilst debris from the downed drones fell at four other sites. In the Kherson oblast, Russian forces targeted 39 settlements, including the regional capital of Kherson, killing one person and injuring 32 others, including a child, in the last 24 hours, according to the local military administration. In the Kharkiv oblast, Russian forces killed two men and wounded a further eleven in the town of Lozova, whilst seven people were wounded in other towns across the region, said Governor Oleh Syniehubov. In Donetsk, the attacks left one person dead in Bilenke and five injured in other localities, said Governor Vadym Filashkin. In the Zaporizhzhia region, ten people were injured, whilst in the Sumy oblast, eight people were injured.
Russian raids on seven oil extraction facilities
Moscow also struck seven oil extraction facilities belonging to the joint-stock company “Ukrnafta” in eastern Ukraine. “The enemy carried out a large-scale attack on Ukrnafta’s facilities, which form part of the Naftogaz Group. Overnight, seven sites responsible for oil and gas extraction in the east of the country were struck simultaneously,” reads the statement from the Naftogaz Group. It was also reported that, as a result of the attack, equipment essential to the company’s operations was destroyed. This led to the shutdown of several facilities and the loss of a significant proportion of production. No casualties were reported among employees.
Russian governor: two people killed and one injured by a Ukrainian drone in Crimea
A drone belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces struck a block of flats in Kerch, Crimea, killing two people and injuring another. This was reported by Sergey Aksyonov, head of the Russian administration of the region annexed by Moscow in 2014. “A Ukrainian drone struck a block of flats in Kerch. Unfortunately, there have been civilian casualties: two people have died and one has been injured,” the governor wrote on Telegram.
