Xpeng G6 and G9 MY26, first road contact with Chinese electric SUVs

A new exterior design characterises its appearance: a redesigned rear end with integrated spoiler and optimised aerodynamics (Cx 0.248) and new 20-inch alloy wheel design.

The interior is well finished and ergonomic. There are some new features compared to the past, including the 15.6-inch central display from which Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless systems can be accessed, the new 10.25-inch instrument cluster, as well as new ambient lights and redesigned controls.

The range consists of the G6 Rwd Standard Range, G6 Rwd Long Range and G6 Awd Performance, all equipped with the new 5c all LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries of the latest generation with 68.5 and 80.8 kWh that guarantee a range of up to 525 km (Wltp cycle G6 Rwd Long Range) and 10-80% continuous charging in 12 minutes, with power up to 451 kW (80.8 kWh).

Performance is high for the segment: up to 358 kW (488 hp), 660 Nm and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.1 s (G6 Awd Performance).

Despite being an SUV coupe, the boot capacity has not been reduced, quite the contrary. It boasts a load capacity of 571 litres that can be expanded to 1,374 litres by folding down the rear seat backrest.

At almost 5 metres long, exactly 4,891 mm, the MY26 G9 premium SUV stands out with its sculpted exterior lines and minimalist styling language. Two colours enter the list (Black Edition and Green Matte only in the Awd Performance versions) and join the four others already in the range. While, as standard, the SUV adopts new 21-inch alloy wheels. Three versions are available: G9 Rwd Standard Range, G9 Rwd Long Range and G9 Awd Performance.

Inside the passenger compartment there are four new colours (Dark Gray, Saddle and the new Coffee, and Light Grey) and the new design of the heated leather steering wheel with electric height and depth adjustment, integrated multifunctional controls and new ergonomic seat controls stands out.

The heart of the renovation lies in the 5C all LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries with super-fast recharging, which can go from 10% to 80% DC (direct current, with a maximum output of 525 kW) in just 12 minutes. The maximum range is 585 kilometres (Rwd Long Range) and the declared consumption is 18.4 kWh per 100 kilometres (Rwd Standard Range).

The load capacity is particularly generous: 660 litres in the boot in 5-seater configuration, rising to 1,576 litres with the 2-seater configuration. To this is added an additional 71 litres in the front storage compartment.
