After as many as three black smokes following meetings with the trade unions and the regional administration, Mimit witnessed a thaw between institutions, trade unions and the company on the Ynap case. 'The parties - the company and the trade unions - have expressed their willingness to examine all possible alternative solutions to the collective dismissal procedure that has already been initiated,' reads a note from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy.

"We consider Yoox an important reality, which must be safeguarded in order to protect employment and its presence in the territory. The reorganisation of this company cannot and must not take place through unilateral actions," said Minister Adolfo Urso at the opening of the round table. The minister hoped for 'a serious and transparent discussion, in which all parties would act responsibly and constructively, towards shared solutions for the company's relaunch'.

Unions: act soon

.

In a joint note at the end of the meeting, Filcams CGIL, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs confirmed that the objective of the round table will be "the withdrawal of the dismissals with the consequent opening of a real debate on the crisis that the company is going through, with the utmost transparency regarding the industrial plan that Yoox and Mytheresa intend to put in place in order to guarantee business continuity". The trade unions also stressed that the timing dictated by the collective dismissal procedure is incompatible with a path useful to the resolution of this serious crisis: "Yoox must proceed as soon as possible to the withdrawal or suspension of the procedure and the activation of a serious and transparent comparison. Unilateral actions on the part of the company will not be acceptable and, therefore, the employer's openness in this sense must be quickly and hopefully already concretised at the next meeting".

Next meeting on 2 October

The work has been rescheduled for next Thursday, 2 October, and therefore one month after the first communication sent by the LuxExperience group, born in April 2025 after the acquisition of Ynap by Mytheresa, announcing around 700 redundancies between Europe and the United States, of which 211 in Italy. The staff at risk were all employees of Yoox (which had merged in 2015 with Net-a-porter to create Ynap), of which around 160 were employed in the Bologna office and the rest in Milan. This is, therefore, about 20% of Ynap's Italian workforce.
