Abi: Patuelli president for the next two years
Italian banking association initiates by-laws changes to expand the pool of presidential candidates
"I come out of an executive committee where a great show of unity of the Italia banking world was confirmed. We have, with the statements of all the members of the executive committee, indicated Antonio Patuelli as president of Abi for the next two years'. Camillo Venesio, ABI vice president and CEO of Banca del Piemonte, told Ansa during a break in the meeting. There was 'great cohesion, great unanimity', Venesio added.
Abi initiates by-laws changes to broaden presidential candidate pool
The ABI 'has made an important decision, we will start the process of statutory changes so that we can expand the pool of those who can be appointed to the executive committee and consequently those who can become ABI president'.
Anticipating this to Ansa, Camillo Venesio, Abi vice-president and CEO of Banca del Piemonte, during a break in the meeting. "A technical statutory explanation is that anyone who is on the executive committee can become president of Abi. The change in the bylaws,' Venesio reiterates, 'is aimed at expanding the possibility for more people to join the executive committee: more positions than now, to be specific, for example, the top management such as the president and vice president of the large group subsidiaries. In addition, a strong wish has been indicated that in the statutory amendment there will be an extension of the number of years of the mandates of all bodies, i.e. president, board, committee, from two to three years,' Venesio points out.
Venesio: 'Patuelli has asked for his last mandate'
"Patuelli has expressly requested that this", i.e. the next two years "be his last mandate" at the helm of Abi. These were the words of Camillo Venesio, Abi vice president and CEO of Banca del Piemonte, during a break in the association's executive committee. "Everyone expressed extreme positivity and gratitude to Antonio Patuelli for the role he has played in an excellent manner in representing the legitimate interests of banks over the years," Venesio added.
