All set for the start of the Le Mans 24 Hours 2025
The WEC's most iconic race is about to get underway at the iconic Sarthe circuit.

The countdown has begun to the green light for the 2025 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, scheduled to run until Sunday 16 June, when the winning crew in each of the three categories will be declared and we at Il sole 24 Ore are present at this iconic event.
Cadillac ahead in qualifying
.Sixty-two cars, divided into three different classes, will take part in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's most famous endurance race that attracts more and more car manufacturers as an important test bed. In fact, even Genesis, Hyundai's super premium brand, has already announced its debut next year.
Today, Friday 13 June, from 4 p.m. there will be a drivers' parade in the centre of the city of Le Mans, with all competitors in classic cars and newer models.
But already on Wednesday 11 June operations began to intensify, with the five hours of free practice interspersed with two 30-minute qualifying sessions for the LMGT3, LMP2 and Hypercar classes; while on Thursday 12 June the third free practice session and the Hyperpole took place, which will see the 12 fastest LMGT3 and LMP2 cars in the previous day's qualifying session and the 15 Hypercars that stood out in terms of chronometre.
From these first practice sessions, the new Hyperpole, spread over two days, has seen spectacular progress by the teams aiming for first place and the limelight that comes with it. Cadillac monopolised the front row and the two Hypercars will start tomorrow at 4pm. It is the first pole position for the American brand at La Sarthe.
