A few days ago, during the Accelerate customer conference dedicated to new trends and technologies, Amazon presented Video Generator, a new Ai-based tool that turns a single product image, the cover photo, into a few-second video. This tool is able to create customised videos generated by artificial intelligence, which highlight a product's features without requiring additional resources or costs. Basically, it allows you to "vividly bring a product's story to life in ways that are relevant to customers," as Amazon put it in a blog post.

Jay Richman, vice president of Amazon Ads, said that Video Generator, currently in beta for select US advertisers (and specifically Sponsored Brands campaigns), will be refined over the next few months before being released on a wider scale. "Video Generator is another significant innovation that leverages generative artificial intelligence to inspire creativity and deliver more value to both advertisers and buyers," Richman said.

According to information gathered by the website TechCrunch, Video Generator clips last between six and nine seconds at a resolution of 720p and 24 frames per second. Advertisers can choose from four variants and take up to five minutes to create (below is a demonstration video of how a customer can take advantage of the new feature via the Amazon Ads platform).

Amazon announced another related feature, Live Image, a generator of animated GIFs lasting a few seconds from a fixed frame. Also in limited beta, it is part of Image Generator, Amazon's artificial intelligence-based image generation suite for marketers.

Video Ai integrated in suites: moving on to the facts

The integration of artificial intelligence-based video generation into existing products and suites is emerging as a significant trend in the technology landscape. Several companies are incorporating this technology into their services, making it accessible to an increasingly wide audience. While Amazon is adapting its Video Generator for advertising purposes, Google is working on integrating its Veo model into YouTube Shorts, or short clips, and Adobe has promised that video generation will be available on its Creative Suite platform by the end of the year.

It is evident that the integration of GenAi video tools is rapidly moving from the experimental phase to practical application in various sectors and workflows. A transition that, according to many analysts, will lead to significant changes in the way video content is created and used in the future, revolutionising sectors such as advertising, marketing and branded content production.
