‘An annual notarial recruitment scheme to help young people enter the profession’
The President of the National Council of Notaries, Vito Pace, sets out the profession’s priorities: from reforming access to the regulations governing EU Inc. companies, which must combine simplification with preventive controls
A central role for the Notarial Profession in the implementation of the Housing Plan, with fees halved for deeds relating to social housing. But what makes the real difference is, above all, its involvement in drafting contracts and standard templates to ensure the plan’s implementation, through public-private partnerships, and, above all, the innovative protocols designed to regulate co-housing. For the future of the profession, characterised by its public function, a proposal is now ready to be submitted to the Ministry of Justice regarding access, with predetermined timelines for the conduct of the competitive examination, so as to ensure one call for applications per year, in November, greater opportunities for young people to take part and a better chance of passing the exams.
Last week, the Notarial Association held its congress, where discussions covered a wide range of topics, with a large turnout. Around 1,300 notaries were present in Rome. “At the heart of it,” says the President of the National Council, Vito Pace, “is the institutional recognition, by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, that we are an integral part of the State.”
One of the notarial profession’s concerns relates to the digital company Eu.inc. What are the prospects?
Politicians, from the Deputy Minister for Justice, Francesco Paolo Sisto, to the EU Commissioner, Raffaele Fitto, have agreed on the need to strike a balance between the requirements for digital simplification and preventive checks, which in Italia are carried out by notaries. We cannot allow companies to be opaque organisations, whose shares can be transferred with a simple click or whose existence can be terminated by pressing a key on a computer. We need transparency and security in transactions, to safeguard the entrepreneurs themselves, and also to enhance companies’ creditworthiness.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the central data collection body in the fight against money laundering. What stage has the work reached?
