Andrea and Matteo Bocelli sing surprise at Christmas Super Bowl
The two tenors with rapper Snoop Dogg sing "White Christmas": first time Italian artists perform at an Nfl Halftime Show
Andrea Bocelli and son Matteo Bocelli together with American rap legend Snoop Dogg were the surprise stars of the Netflix Nfl Christmas Game Day, the most-watched global sports and entertainment event during Christmas, with over 70 million people connected worldwide. These are the first ever Italian artists involved in a Superbowl circuit show. The Bocellis, who joined the AEG Presents stable last May, closed the Christmas Halftime Show by performing the standard White Christmas. The audience greeted them with a roar.
For the second year in a row, following last year's record-breaking Beyoncé match, Netflix has turned American football into an international show that combines sport, music and pop culture, streaming two high-profile NFL matches - Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings - and combining the sporting spectacle with a great music show designed for an international audience.
The Holiday Halftime Party, led by American rap legend Snoop Dogg, saw names from the world of music and entertainment take turns on stage: from the iconic presence of Martha Stewart, to performances by Lainey Wilson, American country superstar, to the voices of HUNTR/X (EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami), stars of the Netflix phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters.
In a media context dominated by the big international stars of American entertainment, the entrance of Maestro Andrea Bocelli together with Matteo Bocelli was probably the most solemn moment of the show. The performances will also be available as a stand-alone special on Netflix.
