Aston Martin DB12 S, everything you need to know about the flagship of the range
The British brand expands the family of its super-performance versions yet again with the new 700-horsepower interpretation of the model that, perhaps most of all, is most closely linked to its DNA
Key points
Let's say straight away that the name of this Aston Martin, like that of its less powerful "little sister", is misleading, because inside the bonnet of the DB12 S is not a big V12 but the umpteenth revision of the non-electrified 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that is now rampant throughout the range. A unit that Aston Martin tuning tailors to each model that adopts it and that now arrives on the DB12 with a power output of 700 bhp that, together with many solutions designed to increase driveability and dynamism, makes the newborn fully entitled to join the high-performance S family.
Aston Martin DB12 S, enters a legendary lineage
The new version of the DB12, which will be marketed from spring 2026 in both Coupe and Volante convertible versions, is the latest in a lineage that appeared in the early 1950s with the DB3S, initially conceived for racing but then also homologated for road use, to which, above all, many other Aston Martin S cars have been added since 2011. The common thread linking them is, in particular, the higher power than the other versions in their ranges, the redefinition of the trim and braking system, the reduction in weight, the reworking of the line and presentation of the cabin. All this is completed by the recalibration of the electronics and the refinement of the aerodynamics.
