The tale of the war between Athens and Melo in Baricco's performance for the RomaEuropaFestival will certainly offer many insights into current affairs. Together with him and actresses Stefania Rocca and Valeria Solarino, composer Giovanni Sollima will conduct the 100 Cellos. Milan and Turin are in musical dialogue, for the 18th edition of the MiTo Festival; while in Verona we hear great European symphonic formations.
Rome
On the 11th at the Auditorium Parco della Musica the performance with music "Thucydides. Athens versus Melo", with Alessandro Baricco - who also curates the adaptation and direction, Stefania Rocca, Valeria Solarino and the 100 cellos led by Giovanni Sollima. This is the story of the clash between the Athenians and the inhabitants of the island of Melo, in the Cyclades. A poetic, sharp and very topical reflection on what Justice and Law are in the face of the relationship between aggressor and aggressed, weak and strong, winner and vanquished.
One of the first shows of the 39th RomaEuropaFestival, which continues until 17 November with one hundred projects including music, dance, theatre, digital arts and creation for children, in twenty spaces in the capital.
