Not only Sinner: the magic moment of Italian tennis is finding its crowning at the Australian Open. Also in doubles: Bolelli and Vavassori become the third Italian pair in history to play a Slam final. Today at the Australian Open they beat the Germans Koepfer and Hanfmann 6-3, 3-6, 7-6. They will now face Indo-Australian duo Bopanna-Ebden on Saturday 27 January. As for Sinner, he will face world number one Djokovic again tomorrow in what has now become a classic.

Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, for their part, rejoiced: 'We are very happy. Honestly, we did not expect right away to be able to play a Slam semifinal, but the level is there and we knew that, maybe in a month or maybe two, the result would come. We started the tournament with the right expectations, we know we can express great tennis, but then it's always the court that speaks".
