Master’s degree: Bocconi SDA ranked as the world’s number one business school for return on investment
This is according to the QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2027. Luiss has also improved, rising to 90th in the world
Sda Bocconi has once again been named the best Italian business school and ranks first in the world for ‘return on investment’. Meanwhile, the Rome Business School has taken top spot for ‘diversity’. This is according to the recently published QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2027, which covers 65 countries and territories and analyses over 420 of the best MBAs worldwide, alongside a series of highly sought-after specialist Business Master’s Rankings: Masters in Management, Finance, Marketing, Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management.
Bocconi’s top ranking
SDA Bocconi remains 20th in the world and ninth in Europe, and retains its joint first place worldwide for Return on Investment. More specifically, the university on Via Sarfatti leads the way among Italian specialist master’s programmes: 13th in the world for Management and 15th for Finance. Against a general backdrop in which four of the six Italian business schools (PoliMi Graduate School of Management Milan, Luiss Business School, Bologna University Business School and Rome Business School) have improved their position in the global MBA rankings compared with 2026, one has remained at the same level (Bocconi) and one has seen its position decline (Mib Trieste School of Management).

Other notable results
Italia is represented by 7 institutions and a total of 30 rankings across MBAs and specialist master’s programmes. Bocconi leads the way among Italian specialist master’s programmes: 13th in the world for Management and 15th for Finance.
Turning to other noteworthy performances, the Polimi Graduate School of Management stands out, climbing six places to 59th in the world and 25th in Europe, improving by ten places in the Employability category (64th) and by thirteen in the Diversity category.
