Bonetti (Action): 'Gender equality also passes through company nurseries'
A joint Liberal Democratic Party Action Bill envisages measures ranging from the integration of education services in a corporate context into the national education system to the definition of national minimum standards for this type of facility
"The presence of early childhood education services in support of shared parenting and in favour of parents' work continuity" is one of the aspects envisaged in the certification for gender equality, which can be obtained by both companies and public administrations. This is what Action MEP Elena Bonetti recalls, illustrating at Parliament 24 a joint Action-Liberal Democratic Party bill recently presented to the Chamber to relaunch the creation of company crèches.
The PDL envisages a series of measures ranging from the integration of educational services in a corporate context into the national education system to the definition of national minimum standards for this type of facility, including the provision of flexible management models and tax incentive mechanisms for those who set up and run corporate nurseries.
The prevalence of small and medium-sized companies in our production fabric has until now constituted a structural limitation to the spread of company crèches. "This is why," Bonetti explains, "in our bill we have introduced a case that favours the possibility of association, of creating real consortia between small and medium-sized companies, perhaps even supporting a large company or local authority, precisely because small and medium-sized companies sometimes do not have the critical mass either to bear the costs of setting up a crèche, or even the number of employees then adequate to be able to somehow keep it active.
