Seven hundred times at the top. Brembo, the Bergamo-based manufacturer of braking systems, celebrates a 2024 season full of successes: 69 world titles won between two- and four-wheel disciplines.
Twenty-four races won in F1 during the season
.Reviewing each success becomes really challenging, but some moments have been truly memorable, including Max Verstappen's (Oracle Red Bull Racing) Formula 1 drivers' title victory, his fourth consecutive world championship, using Brembo calipers and discs. As a reminder, in the 2024 season the Dutch driver, who last year mounted Brembo calipers on his car, also decided to switch to Brembo's latest-generation carbon discs, nicknamed Hulk (an acronym for happy until last kilometres). After so many years, a driver returns to win the world championship with Brembo discs which, by the way, are made in Italy in the Curno factory. It was Max himself who chose Brembo discs, starting this year, for the first time in his career, and the choice turned out to be a winning one, all the more so considering that the newly crowned world champion is among the toughest "breakers" on the grid. The Bergamo-based company has once again dominated Formula 1: all 24 races in 2024 ended up in the hands of cars equipped with its brakes. Since 1975, Brembo has racked up 531 victories out of 851 Grands Prix contested, winning no fewer than 30 drivers' titles and 34 constructors' titles alongside the Circus' strongest teams.
Moto: 592 races won in the premier class since 1978
Moving on to two wheels, however, Jorge Martin's (Prima Pramac Racing) success in MotoGP with the full Brembo braking system and Marchesini wheels and the WorldSBK world championship in which Toprak Razgatlıoğlu (ROKiT Bmw Motorrad WorldSBK Team) returned to triumph deserve a mention. Not forgetting the victories of Ai Ogura (MT Helmets MSI) in Moto2 and David Alonso (Cfmoto Gaviota Aspar Team) in Moto3.Brembo's undisputed dominance in MotoGP continues, with successes extending to Moto2, Moto3 and World Superbike (also with Marchesini) counting 36 rider titles and 37 manufacturer titles won with top teams. Since 1978, no less than 592 victories in the premier class (500 and MotoGP) testify to the evolution and performance of Brembo systems. For the ninth consecutive year, all MotoGP riders have chosen the performance and safety of components produced by the Italian company.
Brembo returns to winning rallies too
Away from the track, Brembo, after 6 years, returns to winning in the Wrc with Hyundai, which hasn't happened since 2017-2018 with Ogier in a Ford Fiesta. In the World Rally Championship Brembo supplies almost 100% of the braking system to the Hyundai team with the exception of the pads and pedals (cast iron disc assemblies, aluminium calipers, pumps), there is therefore also the touch of Made in Italy in this drivers' title thanks to the highly reliable and performance braking systems made ad hoc for both asphalt and earth surfaces. Also in relation to the collaboration with Hyundai, since the Korean company decided to enter the Tcr, it has once again turned to Brembo, a choice that has led to continuity in development between the Korean and Italian companies. The brakes on the i20 in the Rally2 versions are also by Brembo.
