Football, Serie A chooses Malagò as FIGC president candidate
18 votes were cast in favour: only Lazio and Verona against. Elections on 22 June in Rome
The Lega Serie A has chosen. After the Azzurri debacle during the World Cup qualifiers andGravina's farewell, it is Giovanni Malagò the candidate for the presidency of the Federcalcio, expressed by the top league during today's League Assembly in Milan.
There are 18 preferences for the former Coni number one and current president of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation. The clubs have come to an agreement after the morning discussion in the Via Rosellini headquarters: contrary only Lazio with president Claudio Lotito and Verona with Italo Zanzi.
Thefederal elections will be held on 22 June in Rome. The votes do not have the same weight, but take on a specific value proportional to the importance of the component represented: Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro, Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, Associazione Italiana Calciatori and Associazione Italiana Allenatori Calcio. This is the weight of the delegations' votes: Serie A (20 delegates, overall weight 18%), Serie B (20 delegates, 6%), Lega Pro (57 delegates, 12%),Lnd (99 delegates, 34%), Aic (52 delegates, 20%), Aiac (26 delegates, 10%).
