Carlo Sassi, the historic voice of the 'Domenica Sportiva' moviola, has died. Born in Milan, he was 95 years old. A great football fan, he also attempted a career as a footballer and, after a failed audition for Inter, played for a few years in Serie C and in the amateur ranks.

He was hired by RAI in 1960, where he immediately worked for 'La Domenica Sportiva'. It was thanks to him that the moviola became popular, launched by Enzo Tortora, who was then hosting the programme. His debut came on 22 October 1967 with Gianni Rivera's phantom goal in the derby between Inter and Milan. Sassi first edited the moviola together with Bruno Pizzul, then he became the owner of a column entitled 'Pronto moviola', in which he commented on episodes in person, listening to the players' opinions.
