Escape to Warsaw between Isaac B. Singer and the contemporary
The intrigues of Czocha Castle and the beech forests of the Carpathians
A truly romantic escape from the capital in autumn leads to the 13th-century Czocha Castle in the village of Sucha. Its miraculous potion on a hill overlooking the miniature Leśnia Lake, the medieval architecture with its walls, the discovery of the chambers, which can also be done by taking a night tour, marvelling at the many secret passages and numerous hidden chambers, among which the riddle room stands out, intrigue those who love fairy tales. The forests that frame the manor house are one of the most spectacular settings in which to witness the autumn foliage phenomenon. The ancient Carpathian beech forests at the foot of the Bieszczady Mountains are also worth a trip in November to the national park of the same name lying above the slopes of the Wetlina and Smerek mountain pastures. It is a strictly protected area covering 3,300 hectares, in which the trees look like infantry armed only with leaves.
