Catering and banqueting, growth continues: business exceeds 2.3 billion
Anbc-Fipe: 8% growth in the sector in 2025, following the +5.8% in 2024. Membership also grows, especially in the South
An increasingly specialised sector that requires specific skills and differentiated expertise - not only cuisine, but also logistics, marketing and communication - and that after the Covid crisis and the events stopover has resumed a path of strong development that not even the economic downturn seems to be holding back. We are talking about the catering and banquetin sector. Taking stock was the Anbc-Fipe assembly, which brought together entrepreneurs, experts and institutions with the aim of 'outlining concrete strategies to face future challenges with vision, responsibility and a spirit of innovation'. The sector in fact needs specific rules that are still lacking in Italia to continue its growth.
In 2025, the sector grew by 8%, following +5.8% in 2024, exceeding EUR 2.3 billion in total turnover. A system involving more than 110,000 employees, with around 15,000 permanent jobs, and which continues to expand driven by the upturn in events, demand for quality experiences and service innovation.
"Numbers that confirm the solidity and dynamism of the sector, which is increasingly oriented towards quality, professionalism, sustainability and the ability to respond to a continually evolving market," say Fipe Anbc.
During the Assembly, it clearly emerged howthe sector continues to grow, not only in economic terms but also in terms of membership, a sign of the sector's vitality and attractiveness.
"The growth of members, particularly in the regions of Southern Italy, is a clear signal: ours is a lively, dynamic and increasingly attractive sector," says Paolo Capurro, president of Anbc-Fipe. Banqueting and catering companies represent Made in Italy excellence, based on quality, professionalism and the ability to innovate. It is precisely on these values that we must continue to invest to strengthen competitiveness and guarantee ever higher standards. The National Assembly represents a crucial moment for our sector. We must face the challenges with determination, focusing on legality, quality and youth. Only in this way can we build a solid and sustainable future. Banqueting and catering are engines of economic value, but also of social and cultural value: investing in quality and professionalism means strengthening the entire sector and making it increasingly competitive and attractive to new generations'.
