Catering Day, law passed to establish it
The fourth edition will be celebrated on 16 May (third Saturday of the month)

With the final go-ahead from Palazzo Madama - after the OK from Montecitorio that dates back to 17 June 2025 - the third Saturday of May every year is officially the 'Day of Catering', which aims to 'enhance and strengthen the role of Italian catering in its different forms and typologies, pursuing the values of relationships, sharing, conviviality and community'.
A decision that Fipe-Confcommercio welcomes with great satisfaction: "a regulatory result that rewards the long work of awareness carried out by the Federation, finding backing in a rare and precious political convergence. In this way, the institutions recognise - says FIPE in a note - the dual value of public establishments: on the one hand, a fundamental engine for the economy and employment, and on the other, the real beating heart of sociality and savoir vivre in Italia".
"Parliament's approval recognises the economic, social and cultural value of our sector. I hope that this recognition - declares Lino Enrico Stoppani, president of Fipe-Confcommercio - translates into a strategic vision to support the daily challenges of the sector. It is a result that I am sure will fill all the hundreds of thousands of people working in the sector with pride and that will act as a driving force for the great celebration of catering that we will be celebrating on 16 May in Italia and even abroad".
The new format lends unprecedented prestige to the upcoming Catering Day, which has grown over the years and is now in its fourth year, and whose full programme will be unveiled next week.
