The former State Accountant General, Biagio Mazzotta, is the new president of Fincantieri. This concludes the siege of the former keeper of the accounts who goes to occupy the chair left vacant by the death of General Claudio Graziano and who, prior to his appointment, had resigned, as made official by a note from the Ministry of the Economy. The new chairman of Fincantieri should however remain on leave within the ranks of the management of Via XX Settembre.

Mazzotta's nomination had received the prior seal of approval from the board of directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which met to approve the half-yearly accounts and effectively made the nomination official. The latter was then formalised closely by the Fincantieri board convened in an extraordinary session in which 'the invitation formulated by the shareholder Cdp Equity, which submitted the relative candidature for its independent evaluation' was acknowledged.
Appointment of Daria Perrotta as head of Rgs
With Mazzotta's exit from the scene, the succession at the top of Rgs is set in motion, where the current head of legislation at the Mef, Daria Perrotta, who is close to the Minister of the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, who has strongly sponsored her transfer to the public accounts department, should land. Perrotta's appointment is expected on the table of the Council of Ministers scheduled for next Wednesday.
