In its new three-year business plan, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti plans to activate resources amounting to 81 billion lire, which will trigger investments of 170 billion lire. Cassa writes in a note.
In detail, over EUR 70 billion will be earmarked for business activities: of this, around EUR 9 billion will support the country's infrastructural development and around EUR 11 billion will benefit the public administration, through financing activities and the management of public resources. For businesses, the target is set at EUR 52 billion, being able to leverage synergies with Simest, the Cdp Group company, from this plan.
The Four Objectives
.The plan, approved by the Board of Directors chaired by Giovanni Gorno Tempini, at the proposal of the CEO and General Manager, Dario Scannapieco, has four objectives: to promote the competitiveness of the Country System, to stimulate its economic security and strategic autonomy, to strengthen social and territorial cohesion, and to support the path towards a 'Just Transition'. "'The Strategic Plan,' the note explains, 'is part of a context in which Europe and Italy are called upon to face new challenges in order to consolidate their growth path: from the demographic decline to the increase in energy consumption, from foreign dependence for access to critical raw materials to a new landscape of public finance and interest rates.
Against this backdrop, "CDP will step up its activities with measures to support a greater number of businesses and increase its proximity to local areas, consolidating its role as a promotional bank for the country's development, enhancing the logic of impact and sustainability, and promoting the digital transformation of businesses and the public administration. These resources will be mobilised towards the economic fabric along the five pillars through which the Group's action will be directed over the next three years: Business, Advisory, Equity, Real Asset and International'.
"The new plan will strengthen our action as a driving force for Italy's development, with a significant economic, social and environmental impact," said Cdp chairman Giovanni Gorno Tempini, while for CEO Scannapieco, "with the new Strategic Plan 'Today, for the Italy of the future', Cassa Depositi e Prestiti lays a solid foundation for playing a crucial role as a platform of finance and expertise to support the country's growth.
