Charging point subsidy: applications open today – up to €8,000 for blocks of flats. How to apply
The infrastructure must be brand new and installed on sites that are fully at the beneficiary’s disposal
80 per cent of the costs of purchasing and installing a domestic charging point, up to a maximum of 1,500 euros for individuals and 8,000 euros for blocks of flats: is the amount covered by the Charging Point Bonus, which launches today (22 September) at 12 noon via the Invitalia platform, the organisation managing the scheme on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy.
The total funding amounts to 68 million euros up to 2030: 10 million is carry-over funding from 2025, 5 million is allocated for 2026, €15 million for each of the years 2027–2029 and €8 million for 2030, the final year of the scheme, which will end on 31 March.
Details on infrastructure
The infrastructure must be brand new and installed on land over which the beneficiary has full control: for individuals, for exclusively private use; for blocks of flats, for the collective use of the residents; in both cases, the premises must not be accessible to the public. Eligible expenses for the grant also include electrical installations, strictly necessary building works, design, project management, testing and the activation of a new connection point (POD) for connection to the grid. Excluded are taxes and duties, consultancy fees not provided for in the decree, expenditure on land and property, and charges for planning permission.
Eligible expenses
Eligible expenditure begins on 26 June 2026, whilst the reference year for the grant is determined by the date of completion of the installation: for 2026, this is the period up to 31 December; for subsequent years, it is the corresponding calendar year. From 2027, the devices must also comply with the technical requirements set out in ARERA Resolution 541/2020/R/eel and be included in the official list published by the GSE.
The question
The application is submitted online using SPID, CIE or CNS, attaching proof of identity, electronic invoices in XML format, bank statements evidencing traceable payments, the installer’s declaration of conformity and a valid certified email (PEC) address for the entire duration of the procedure. For blocks of flats, a resolution from the owners’ meeting authorising work on the communal areas is also required, accompanied by a declaration from the property manager confirming that the resolution has not been challenged within the statutory time limits. Each applicant may submit only one application, with the option to resubmit it a second time if the first is deemed inadmissible.
