Catering: Cigierre’s turnover stands at 551 million by the end of the year
In the first half of the year, 14 million was invested as part of a 30-million growth plan to open new outlets for the Old Wild West, Wiener Haus, America Graffiti, Pizzikotto, Shi’s and Smashie brands
The expansion campaign launched by Cigierre Group (Compagnia Generale Ristorazione Spa) for its casual dining brands Old Wild West, Wiener Haus, America Graffiti, Pizzikotto, Shi’s and Smashie.
In the first half of the year, turnover reached 180 million euros, representing a 6 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025, whilst the network’s total turnover, including both company-owned and franchised outlets, stood at €264 million (+5.6%), “with growth both in value and in terms of covers across the Group’s main formats”, the Group explains. In terms of profitability, “EBITDA for the first half of 2026 reached €39 million (+25.8% on the first half of 2025)”.
For the full year 2026, turnover is estimated at 551 million euros, up 5.5% compared with 2025.
‘The figures for the first half of the year confirm the strength of our strategy and allow us to reaffirm our forecasts for 2026. But a group like ours does not grow solely through its financial results: it grows through the formats we are able to develop and, above all, through the people who drive them forward every day. This is the balance we are keen to maintain: investing in technological and product innovation whilst never ceasing to listen to those who choose our brands, because it is there – in our relationship with our customers – that quality truly comes into play. “Cigierre has never stood still, and has no intention of doing so now: the coming months will reveal just how far this evolution will take us,” commented Stefania Criveller, corporate general manager at Cigierre.
In the first half of 2026, Cigierre continued to expand its network, which now comprises a total of 342 restaurants, of which 215 are company-owned and 127 are franchises.
This growth is also supported by the €30 million investment plan launched for 2026, of which €14 million has already been spent in the first half of the year, primarily for the opening of new outlets and the refurbishment of existing restaurants. The plan envisages a total of 37 new openings during the year, of which 28 will take place in the second half of the year (16 company-owned and 12 franchised). Consequently, the workforce is growing: in the first half of the year, the total number of employees rose by 4 per cent, reaching 4,980 (62 per cent on permanent contracts).
