The history and tradition of the Red Krumiri, the historic production of the Casale Monferrato confectionery workshop in Casale Monferrato, in the lower Piedmont, with 150 years of history behind it, enters the Compagnia del Gusto Holding Spa, a vehicle managed by the Cosulich family.
The company has acquired 100% of the historic brand from the Portinaro family, who for generations have guarded its recipe, processing and identity. "This is an important turning point, marking the passage from a century-old family management to a new phase of industrial development, with the aim of taking the name of Casale Monferrato further and further afield, strengthening the positioning of a product that is already recognised and loved well beyond the borders of Piedmont," says a note announcing the operation.
Founded in the late Eighteenth Century and deeply rooted in the territory, the company has built its reputation on excellent craftsmanship, the quality of its raw materials, and its connection to the territory. "The iconic red tin box, the historic workshop and the manual processing with just five ingredients are the elements that have made Krumiri Rossi a local pride and a Piedmontese excellence".
The Portinaro family, which has led the company for the past decades, is making way for a wide-ranging project. In particular, Anna Portinaro - the architect of the success of the Krumiri Rossi brand for decades - will accompany the new ownership in managing the transition by continuing to operate within the historic shop to ensure operational continuity and the transfer of expertise.
The company, in the past at the centre of numerous rumours about possible divestments, owns the Krumiri Rossi brand. "Compagnia del Gusto Holding SpA, has chosen to invest in a brand that is a symbol of Italian craftsmanship, consistent with its mission of enhancing iconic brands of the national food heritage. The declared objective is to strengthen the organisational and distribution structure, develop new commercial opportunities and accompany Krumiri Rossi on a path of international growth, preserving its identity, recipe, production process and employment in Casale Monferrato,' the new ownership writes.
