It is official: AC Milan have announced that they have entrusted Massimiliano Allegri with the technical direction of the men's first team. The club wrote this on its website. Born in Livorno on 11 August 1967, Massimiliano Allegri, after playing in Serie A with Pisa, Pescara, Cagliari, Perugia and Napoli, began his coaching career in 2002. He sat on the benches of Aglianese, Spal, Grosseto and Sassuolo before being called by Cagliari in 2008, with whom he made his Serie A debut. In 2010 he arrived at AC Milan, with whom he immediately won scudetto number 18 in Rossoneri history and the 2011 Italian Super Cup. From 2014 to 2019 first, and from 2021 to 2024 then, he sits on the bench of Juventus, with whom he wins 5 Scudetti, 5 Coppe Italia and 2 Supercoppe Italiane. The club wishes Massimiliano and his staff all the best of luck.
The evening of Thursday 29 May represented the first crucial market junction in our Serie A. On the coaching side, of course: Antonio Conte remains at Napoli. The former national team coach's renewed agreement with the Neapolitan club for the fourth Italian champion was made official by the club president himself, Aurelio De Laurentiis, with the tweet 'Avanti tutti, più forti di prima'. Below is a photo of him and Conte exulting together on the Scudetto party bus on the Naples seafront.
The meeting in Naples between the two, together with the club's MD and CEO, Andrea Chiavelli and Giovanni Manna, lasted around three hours and ended shortly before 9pm. Afterwards, the coach accompanied by his wife Elisabetta, the president and Mrs. Jacqueline and the two executives moved to a city restaurant. Smiling faces, but no statements. During the meeting, steps were taken to define the team's strengthening programme.
Manna would have agreed with the coach on the steps to be taken to achieve some goals set by the coach in order to face next season in the best way. There is an important project on the table: a 150/200 million market in order to confirm in Italy and have a say in the Champions League. The first shot should be the Belgian star coming out of Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne.
More or less in the same hours, came the first news of Allegri at Milan, the club that had launched him with the first Scudetto of his career, in 2011, before the five won with Juventus. He will be the Rossoneri coach who will have to relaunch the team next season. The Tuscan coach has signed a two-year contract worth around 5 million euros with an option for a third year.
