Crans-Montana: Moretti arrested for assaulting his wife Jessica
Mr and Mrs Moretti, the owners of the disco bar where 41 people died on New Year’s Eve, are under investigation by the Valais public prosecutor’s office, along with 14 other people
Jacques Moretti, the owner of the Constellation, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife, Jessica Moretti. According to reports today by the Swiss television channels Léman Bleu and RTS, the incident is said to have taken place during the night of 11–12 August.
The woman is reported to have been admitted to hospital. Mr and Mrs Moretti, the owners of the disco-bar where 41 people died on New Year’s Eve, are under investigation by the Valais public prosecutor’s office, along with 14 other people.
The investigation, explains RTS, will seek to establish whether Jacques Moretti’s assault on his wife Jessica is linked to the New Year’s Eve fire at Le Constellation, which claimed the lives of 41 people, including six Italian teenagers. It is pointed out, however, that his arrest is separate from the proceedings initiated following the tragedy in Crans-Montana. Jacques Moretti and his wife Jessica are among the sixteen defendants in the New Year’s Eve fire case and are charged, amongst other things, with manslaughter, arson through negligence and causing grievous bodily harm.
