The appointment is set for "the first half of July": it will be in those days that Dolce&Gabbana will bring their most precious collections to Rome Capital, hence Haute Couture, Men's Haute Couture and Haute Jewellery, stage 2025 of a "Grand Tour" with grandiose events and hundreds of guests that began in 2012 in Taormina. Last year it had been the turn of Pula and the archaeological site of Nora, in the south of Sardinia, in 2022 of Alberobello, preceded by Venice, Naples, Palermo, Milan, but also Lake Como and Syracuse. Not even Covid had stopped the project, which combines fashion, art and craftsmanship of its host locations: in 2020, in fact, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had chosen to organise a presentation in Florence.
Rome is therefore preparing for a spring-summer full of fashion-related events: on 27 May, in fact, it will be the turn of the fashion show of Dior's Cruise 2026 collection, signed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, a designer who is thus returning to her city. The Dolce&Gabbana collections will be presented "in some of the city's most significant locations that will soon be revealed," reads the note announcing the event.
'Rome is a place of the heart, an extraordinary city that embodies our love for Italy and its history,' the creatives declare. For artists and creative people of all times it has always been and will always be an endless source of inspiration. This is why we are particularly excited and honoured at the idea of bringing our Haute Couture here, as part of the Grand Tour that for years has allowed us to explore and celebrate the timeless beauty of our cities and offer it to the world. With each Collection we want to convey the deep connection with local culture and traditions: being able to present our creations in Rome, with its uniqueness, the grandeur of its monuments and the hidden corners that tell a story rooted in our own identity, represents a great dream come true for us. We would like to thank the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and the Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion Alessandro Onorato for their cooperation, availability and enthusiasm with which they welcomed our project'.
"I would like to thank Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, their choice makes us happy and proud because it is the confirmation of a now consolidated trend that sees the capital once again in the spotlight all over the world," notes Roberto Gualtieri, Mayor of Rome. The efforts made over the last few years by the administration to bring Rome back to the centre of the international scene are also bearing fruit in these unique and eagerly awaited fashion events: next July, the unique Collections that will be presented, an expression of the highest Italian craftsmanship, will shine in an even more beautiful and modern Rome enriched by the Jubilee and the Caput Mundi restoration works".
"It will be a world event that we strongly wanted in Rome. It is the first time that Dolce&Gabbana will parade in the capital and it is further confirmation of how attractive Rome has become once again,' reiterates councillor Alessandro Onorato. 'We have made available the best locations, unique places that no other city can boast. It will be a great promotional showcase that will generate enormous economic spin-offs. I thank Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for their trust, with them we share the same vision of the city: modern, inclusive and looking to the future while respecting the glorious past'.
