Eicma 2025, Suzuki unveils the new Sv-7Gx
Suzuki's novelty for 2026 promises to be the link between a sports naked and an adventure tourer. Also among the novelties is the e-Address electric scooter
Suzuki presented the world premiere at Eicma of the Sv-7Gx, a 650 cc crossover with which the Hamamatsu company enters the segment of medium-displacement road crossovers, a category that moves significant volumes and still shows growth margins on an international scale. Built on the V-twin platform of the Sv650, it inherits many features from the V-Strom 650XT and is styled after its big sister the Gsx-S1000Gx.
The riding position is comfortable, a mix between the slightly forward leaning position of the SV650 and the more upright, adventure-touring position of the V-Storm 650. Wide, variable-section aluminium handlebars and a secure, stable knee grip on the 17.4-litre fuel tank ensure adequate control while riding. The seat height is only 795 mm from the ground. The 73.4 hp liquid-cooled 652 cc V-twin engine ensures a full-bodied and consistent power delivery throughout the rev range. Then there is all the Suzuki electronics, including adjustable traction control, three riding modes, and the Quick Shift System gearbox.
The chassis combines a tubular steel trellis frame with a tubular swingarm, which drives a single shock absorber with seven-way adjustable preload via a progressive linkage. The wheels are both 17-inch; the weight in running order is 211 kg.
In the spotlight at the Rho exhibition centre, the e-Address scooter, which is being shown in Milan as a European premiere, stands out in particular: built around a light and robust frame, very similar to the one that equips 125cc scooters, it has an elegant design and a range of 80 km, more than sufficient for daily commuting.
