(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor)-Eni set well in Piazza Affari on the day of the 2025 accounts. The company closed the fourth quarter and financial year 2025 with 'significant progress in its strategy and financial results', according to a note. Specifically, adjusted net profit for the fourth quarter stood at 1.20 billion, up 35% year-on-year, while full-year 2025 net profit stood at 4.98 billion, down 5%. The CEO, Claudio Descalzi, called the numbers 'structurally sound in industrial and economic-financial terms'.
"Eni's fourth-quarter results are very good and above expectations, with an operating profit of €1.78 billion, against our estimates of €1.629 billion and against a consensus of around €1.71 billion," commented the experts at Banca Akros, who thus recommended buying the shares ('Buy'), calculating however a lower price target than the current quotations and equal to €17.
Experts at Intermonte also indicated a price target of EUR 17 for Eni and thus recommended a 'Neutral' on the stock, while admitting that the fourth-quarter accounts were better than expected. The experts also expect more details on the outlook for the current year from the conference call in the early afternoon and especially from the Capital Market Day, scheduled for 19 March.
Meanwhile, the group announced that it estimates hydrocarbon production growth consistent with the objectives of the 2025-2028 plan; expected gross investments at EUR 7 billion and net investments at around EUR 5 billion; expected gearing between 10% and 15% (assuming a Brent price of $62/barrel). Finally Equita recommends a 'Buy' on Eni in light of the numbers released by the group, but calculates a price target of EUR 18, lower than current quotations
