Etilika, one of Italy's leading online wine shops with 4 thousand references in its catalogue and 14 thousand certified reviews, born as a start-up in Rome in 2019 has rapidly grown in the post-Covid years growing from 200 thousand euros in turnover in 2019 to 3.8 in 2023 now announces an increase in turnover to start its expansion abroad as well as implementing new features such as the virtual sommelier still in the testing phase.
The 2-million capital increase will take place on the Mamacrowd equity crowdfunding platform. It will be open to both investors and industry enthusiasts, and follows a modality already tried and tested in 2021 when Etilika on the same platform had raised over EUR 1 million within a few weeks. Among other things, on the Mamacrowd platform it is already possible to join the new campaign with additional benefits for early investors before the official opening on 20 June.
"We are proud," commented Etilika's co-founder Michele Trotta, "to launch this new capital raising after the successful round with Mamacrowd three years ago. On that occasion we had hundreds of investors at our side who decided to bet on a sector such as wine, which we can define as the 'building block' of the food industry for its safety and longevity characteristics, and to which e-commerce has contributed to making it even more accessible. At Etilika we always tend to look to the future by trying to anticipate trends, and we want to do so again this time with our Artificial Intelligence integration projects and penetration into new foreign markets that are absolutely promising.
The intention of Etilika - which has recently opened a section dedicated to dealcolates - is to invest the capital raised through this operation in launching new functionalities based on artificial intelligence that it has been working on for some time, capitalising on the experience that has seen the company as a forerunner in the use of AI algorithms for search engine positioning.
Etilika's AI Sommelier, currently in beta test phase and developed in partnership with WordLift, will make the pleasure of wine and food pairing an increasingly inclusive experience with highly personalised proposals and pairing recommendations. By bringing together WordLift's neuro-symbolic AI technology and Etilika's database of over 4000 labels, it will be possible to develop pairings and research that respect wine traditions but are accessible to all.
