An electoral symbol with another 17 symbols inside (the last four will be presented next Thursday). Cateno De Luca, mayor of Taormina and leader of South Calls North (which has as party president the former deputy minister for the Economy and M5S exponent Laura Castelli), is putting together a cocktail of anti-system forces for the next European elections, within the 'Front of Freedom': ex-League, ex 5 Star, no vax, animal rights activists, farmers, Eurocritics.
From ex-Leftists to ex-M5s
.The latest to be announced on Thursday 28 March were the agreements signed with Grande Nord, a party founded by former Lega Nord member Roberto Bernardelli, with the Noi Agricoltori movement and with the Pensioneati party. But De Luca's formation will also include Piera Aiello, former 5 Star and the first witness of justice to be elected to Parliament, and Paolo Silvagni, nicknamed 'Mr Valleverde' because he owns the shoe company of the same name. Also on the team are Enrico Rizzi, an activist for animal rights and two no vax movements: Insieme Liberi and Vita. The list promoted by Sud chiama Nord also includes the Movimento per l'Italexit, formed by former Italexit leaders with Paragone. As well as Captain Ultimo, born Sergio De Caprio and the historic mayor of Amatrice, Sergio Pirozzi. As well as the former Leghist Roberto Castelli (founder of the Popular Party of the North) and another former Carroccio, Vito Comencini (former coordinator of the League in Verona) founder of 'Popolo veneto' and the rebellious Salvinians of the Rassemblement Valdotan.
The symbol
.De Luca also unveiled the symbol with which his Front for Freedom will run in the European elections: the word 'Freedom' in the foreground studded with 13 symbols of various sizes and four still to be filled in. "Ours are stars and we can display them, others are ashamed," the lunge of the leader of Sud chiama Nord (South calling North)
The objectives
.What are the objectives of the list? The 4 per cent threshold is almost impossible to reach. We are aiming at 3 per cent, the threshold for the political elections, so as to become competitive for the 2027 elections. Sud chiama Nord (South Calls North) has a base of 1-1.5 per cent nationally. The bet is to catch something region by region and double the 'loot'
