Tresina. Jovanotti's first wine is a tribute to his daughter, a pure Sangiovese produced in one of the most famous cellars of the Chianti Classico, the Montevertine, with grapes (about 25 quintals) from the artist's rows in Cortona.
'There are many similarities between wine and music: nature, intelligence, poetry,' Lorenzo Cherubini commented in a video posted on social. "Then if one listens to a song and drinks a drop of wine, one feels in paradise," he added, evidently interpreting the thoughts of many singers who - before him - have made the same choice (Sting or Gianna Nannini, to name but a couple). 'Today is a great day because we are racking our wine, the Teresina!', Jovanotti declaims in the video.
At the moment, the Sangiovese is ageing in the cellar, but theforecast is to produce around 2,400 bottles, using a traditional method specific to Chianti varieties.
A lover of the bucolic life, the former DJ chas been cultivating his vineyards in Tuscany for over twenty years and until now has produced a red table wine that has never been marketed. The new product is instead a label destined for the market. Supporting Jova in this adventure is Filippo Polidori, wine and food consultant and long-time collaborator.
